UMI Hammer listed online at 10,999
UMI, a relatively unknown brand from China, that shot to prominence with its Zero smartphone, has silently launched Hammer, a new phone that it claims is ' the strongest phone ever built.' UMI Hammer is listed on e-commerce marketplace Flipkart at 16,999. At the time of filing this post, it was out of stock.
The page also features a video featuring a 'violence test' on the phone where it's subjected to tough conditions and even splashed with water. The listing, however, doesn't detail the ruggedised features. According to UMI the Hammer phone sports an aviation aluminium alloy frame with 4.3mm thickness and a soft polycarbonate back panel. The phone measures 71.6x144x7.9mm.
The phone sports a 5-inch HD(1280x720p) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone comes with a 2250mAh removable battery.
UMI Hammer runs Android v4.4 (KitKat), upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. It sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 3.2MP front camera. In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim smartphone supports 4G (only FDD-LTE 1800Mhz band), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phone comes in white and black variants.
