HCL kick starts Early Career Training Program in Vijayawada
HCL organized an Industry Academia meet in Vijayawada. The meet took place within a month after HCL inked an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Government to open a state-of-the-art Global IT Development and Training Centre at Vijayawada. Sri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble

Lakshminarayana, IAS retd., Founder Chairman, APSSDC presided the meet comprising of management, founders, promoters, directors and deans from numerous engineering colleges and universities, along with senior leaders from HCL Technologies.
HCL aims to train, hire and employ 5000 local residents in the city the next few years through an extensive skill enhancement program aimed at bridging the skill gap of the local talent and leveraging the gender equal workforce. The meet was aimed to provide the participants with an in-depth understanding of the HCL’s training & hiring program recently launched in the city.
HCL will be sourcing Fresher Engineers, Class XII pass out candidates who will be selected as per the selection criteria and trained on various aspects of technologies required to make them job ready. The candidates will undergo training basis the industry curriculum developed and customized by HCL. Candidates post successful completion of the training will be placed in HCL Vijayawada and will also be doing campus placements for candidates for the IP related work.
Addressing the gathering Sri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble IT Minister said that we should extend an open arm welcome to HCL in creating the soul for Amravati through this innovative and new people strategy which will help us build work ready youth by bridging the skill gap. He also stressed that there is a need for educators and academicians to look at things differently and play a pivotal role in managing the aspirations of today’s youth. He also assured that the Government will extend full support for successful execution of this program.
Commenting on the importance of the meet and the program launched by HCL, Srimathi Shivashan- kar, Vice President – HCL Technologies said, “It’s a remarkable initiative taken by HCL in association with the Andhra Pradesh Government to reach out to the local talent in Vijayawada. This HCL Scholar Ambassador program will enable and fast track partnering with the institutions in the city to discover the potential of the local talent. This will also help us promote the come back home concept by getting local people back to their home towns with global career opportunities. I am truly grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their continued support in achieving our goals and encouraging us to accomplish countless milestones.”
