HCL kick starts Early Ca­reer Train­ing Pro­gram in Vi­jayawada

HCL or­ga­nized an In­dus­try Academia meet in Vi­jayawada. The meet took place within a month af­ter HCL inked an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Gov­ern­ment to open a state-of-the-art Global IT De­vel­op­ment and Train­ing Cen­tre at Vi­jayawada. Sri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble

Lak­sh­mi­narayana, IAS retd., Founder Chair­man, APSSDC presided the meet com­pris­ing of man­age­ment, founders, pro­mot­ers, di­rec­tors and deans from nu­mer­ous en­gi­neer­ing colleges and uni­ver­si­ties, along with se­nior lead­ers from HCL Tech­nolo­gies.

HCL aims to train, hire and em­ploy 5000 lo­cal res­i­dents in the city the next few years through an ex­ten­sive skill en­hance­ment pro­gram aimed at bridg­ing the skill gap of the lo­cal ta­lent and lever­ag­ing the gen­der equal work­force. The meet was aimed to pro­vide the par­tic­i­pants with an in-depth un­der­stand­ing of the HCL’s train­ing & hir­ing pro­gram re­cently launched in the city.

HCL will be sourc­ing Fresher En­gi­neers, Class XII pass out can­di­dates who will be se­lected as per the se­lec­tion cri­te­ria and trained on var­i­ous as­pects of tech­nolo­gies re­quired to make them job ready. The can­di­dates will un­dergo train­ing ba­sis the in­dus­try cur­ricu­lum de­vel­oped and cus­tom­ized by HCL. Can­di­dates post suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of the train­ing will be placed in HCL Vi­jayawada and will also be do­ing cam­pus place­ments for can­di­dates for the IP re­lated work.

Ad­dress­ing the gath­er­ing Sri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble IT Min­is­ter said that we should ex­tend an open arm wel­come to HCL in cre­at­ing the soul for Am­ra­vati through this in­no­va­tive and new peo­ple strat­egy which will help us build work ready youth by bridg­ing the skill gap. He also stressed that there is a need for ed­u­ca­tors and aca­demi­cians to look at things dif­fer­ently and play a piv­otal role in man­ag­ing the as­pi­ra­tions of to­day’s youth. He also as­sured that the Gov­ern­ment will ex­tend full sup­port for suc­cess­ful ex­e­cu­tion of this pro­gram.

Com­ment­ing on the im­por­tance of the meet and the pro­gram launched by HCL, Sri­mathi Shivashan- kar, Vice Pres­i­dent – HCL Tech­nolo­gies said, “It’s a re­mark­able ini­tia­tive taken by HCL in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Andhra Pradesh Gov­ern­ment to reach out to the lo­cal ta­lent in Vi­jayawada. This HCL Scholar Am­bas­sador pro­gram will en­able and fast track part­ner­ing with the in­sti­tu­tions in the city to dis­cover the po­ten­tial of the lo­cal ta­lent. This will also help us pro­mote the come back home con­cept by get­ting lo­cal peo­ple back to their home towns with global ca­reer op­por­tu­ni­ties. I am truly grate­ful to the Gov­ern­ment of Andhra Pradesh for their con­tin­ued sup­port in achiev­ing our goals and en­cour­ag­ing us to ac­com­plish count­less mile­stones.”
