HCL un­veils TechBee in Chen­nai

HCL’s new peo­ple strat­egy for 10+2 stu­dents aims to of­fer soft­ware en­gi­neer­ing jobs by equip­ping them with the fu­ture ready skills.

Lever­ag­ing the de­mo­graphic div­i­dend in Ru­ral In­dia, this pro­gram con­trib­utes to the “Skill In­dia” mission. Through this pro­gram, a 10+2 student will gain skills to do a soft­ware en­gi­neer job with HCL and also en­roll into Mas­ters in IT pro­gram. Stu­dents who have joined this pro­gram have a min­i­mum 85% mark in their 12th exam with Maths as a sub­ject.

Stu­dents who wish to en­roll for the pro­gram are given coun­selling along with their par­ents ei­ther in a group ses­sion or on a one-to-one ba­sis be­fore the en­trance test to un­der­stand the nu­ances of the pro­gram and the fu­ture of the stu­dents on suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of the pro­gram. The pro­gram would pro­vide a com­bi­na­tion of aca­demic train­ing for nine months and on-the-job train­ing for three months mak­ing them self-reliant. Dur­ing the first year of train­ing, en­rolled stu­dents will get a stipend of Rs10,000 per month. In­ter­ested Can­di­dates can get more in­for­ma­tion on the same by call­ing on the toll­free num­ber: 1800 –274– 2500 (9:00 am – 6:00 pm IST). They can also walk in to the Chen­nai Cen­tres over the next 30 days, start­ing 20 May till 20 June, 2017.

HCL Tech­nolo­gies is one of the big­gest IT com­pa­nies in the city with over 35,000 em­ploy­ees. With the Early Ca­reer Train­ing Pro­gram, the com­pany would add on to the ta­lent pool to cater to cur­rent and po­ten­tial clients.

Speak­ing at the occa- sion – Sri­mathi Shivashankar, Vice Pres­i­dent – HCL Tech­nolo­gies said, “We are excited to un­veil TechBee in Chen­nai – HCL Early Ca­reer Train­ing Pro­gram. The first batch of the TechBee pro­gram was launched in Madu­rai& Luc­know last month. The pro­gram will pre­pare th­ese stu­dents tech­ni­cally and pro­fes­sion­ally for jobs in soft­ware en­gi­neer­ing with us. This ef­fort from HCL will en­able stu­dents with early ca­reer as­pi­ra­tions to be­come self­suf­fi­cient and also pur­sue Higher ed­u­ca­tion. We are look­ing for­ward to work­ing with lo­cal schools across Chen­nai and Tamil Nadu.“
