HP wins five-year Shut­ter­fly deal

HP has re­cently an­nounced an his­toric deal with Shut­ter­fly, an on­line re­tailer and man­u­fac­turer of high-qual­ity per­son­al­ized prod­ucts and ser­vices, adding a sec­ond phase of HP Indigo 12000 Dig­i­tal Presses and nam­ing HP as its pre­ferred dig­i­tal press provider as they ex­pand their lead as the world’s lead­ing dig­i­tal print ser­vice provider. The an­nounce­ment comes just a year af­ter Shut­ter­fly ac­quired a first phase of 25 HP Indigo 12000 Dig­i­tal Presses, mak­ing its com­bined or­der the largest deal by far for HP Indigo.

Shut­ter­fly leads the mar­ket in high-qual­ity photo based printed prod­ucts and we are in­cred­i­bly pleased to be part of that suc­cess.”

Shut­ter­fly will use its new fleet of dig­i­tal presses to pro­duce a range of high­qual­ity, per­son­al­ized prod­ucts and gifts in­clud­ing photo books, cal­en­dars, cus­tom sta­tionery, cards and keep­sakes. The 29-inch for­mat HP Indigo 12000 Dig­i­tal Press en­ables pro­duc­tion of these prod­ucts through off­set match­ing dig­i­tal color with true photo qual­ity, high pro­duc­tiv­ity, and wide ver­sa­til­ity on an un­matched range of me­dia in­clud­ing syn­thetic, met­al­ized and can­vas ap­pli­ca­tions. The new HP Indigo presses will be in­stalled in time to help Shut­ter­fly man­age the an­nual boom of photo-based gift giv­ing for the hol­i­day sea­son.

The deal also marks the big­gest-ever com­pet­i­tive win for HP Indigo, with Shut­ter­fly’s de­ci­sion to make HP its pre­ferred dig­i­tal press provider and re­place presses from an ex­ist­ing ven­dor.

Shut­ter­fly will also use HP Prin­tOS ca­pa­bil­i­ties for its full HP Indigo fleet to seam­lessly har­ness and print its prod­ucts.
