Lava to double revenue in 2014

The DQWeek (Delhi) - - FRONT PAGE - SUBARNA TALUKDAR

Mobile and tablet maker Lava is expecting to scale up its revenue this year as it focuses more on the enterprise segment.

Over an email interview with The DQ Week, Vikram Yadav, VP- Tablets, Lava International, wrote, "We are looking forward to double our revenues from tablets and IT products in FY 2014 from FY 2013". IT will be leveraging its 7 and 10 inch tablets chiefly to drive this growth. Explaining how Lava plans to achieve its growth plans, Vikram wrote, "Lava is focusing aggressively on enterprise space this year coming up with product portfolio comprising both Android and Windows tablets".

Although the popularity of Android based mobile devices is greater than that of Windows, however, the enterprise segment is increasingly preferring the Windows platform, believes Vikram Yadav. " Because of its highly userfriendly interface the enterprise segment has shown affinity towards Windows tablets", writes Vikram. In order to cater to enterprise customers Lava is building technically superior products for sectors like pharmaceuticals, retail, automobile and BFSI.

There is a strong focus on the Enterprise Space by providing customized solutions to their commercial needs by Lava. It is partnering with companies who have developed applications catering to accounting needs of SMBs customers. It is focusing on solutions specifically for sectors like education, health care, retail, etc.

Education sector will also remain Lava's key focus for its tablet business in the year 2014. In 2013, Lava spearheaded the education initiative in Meghalaya, where 24000 Tablets were delivered to students under the Government's Student Digital Learning Scheme last year. "With our tablet offerings we are committed to facilitate customized products to harness the potential of digital learning in India. The objective is to empower the students with e-learning tools by offering them an access to a whole new view of their world right at their fingertips", comments Vikram.

The channel forms an integral part of Lava's distribution policies. "We are creating dedicated distribution channel for tablets and IT products. We are keen on fostering partnerships with the channel partners that create a win-win situation for all the stakeholders involved", writes Vikram on Lava's channel plans. On marketing front, it will be aggressive on digital and BTL activities to connect and engage with its target audience. Lava will conduct on-ground activations, events and print campaigns in specific business publications to reach out to the enterprise customers to position our solutions to them in the right context.
