SUSE Helps Re­sellers Ex­tend Soft­ware Ben­e­fits to the Cloud

SUSE in­tro­duced a new pro­gram that al­lows re­sellers ofSUSE sub­scrip­tions to host SUSE soft­ware prod­ucts on be­half of their end-user cus­tomers, pro­vid­ing more flex­i­bil­ity to both re­sellers and end cus­tomers as they ex­tend the ben­e­fits of SUSE prod­ucts be­yond cus­tomers’ on-site data cen­ters.

“Many of our cus­tomers are find­ing value in part­ner­ing with a man­aged cloud provider so they can stay fast and lean and fo­cus their lim­ited re­sources on their core busi­ness and on driv­ing in­no­va­tion ,” said Ron­ald de Jong , Pres­i­dent of Sales at SUSE . “SUSE Re­seller Host­ing en­ables our re­seller part­ners to eas­ily cre­ate new of­fer­ings to serve these cus­tomers within their ex­ist­ing SUSE part­ner­ship frame­work, while grow­ing the im­por­tant re­la­tion­ships our SUSE end-user cus­tomers rely on .”

A re­cent re­port from 451 Re­search* found man­aged ser­vices at cloud ser­vice providers are grow­ing at a com­pound an­nual growth rate of 26 per­cent and are pro­jected to ac­count for 36 per­cent of to­tal cloud mar­ket rev­enue in 2018. Greg Zwak­man , Re­search Di­rec­tor for 451 Re­search , said, “Im­por­tantly, man­aged ser­vices rev­enue - for both multi-ten­ant and sin­gle­tenant cloud ser­vices - is grow­ing 60 per­cent faster than rev­enue from in­fra­struc­ture-only ser­vices. So man­aged ser­vices rev­enue will ac­count for an in­creas­ing share of over­all cloud ser­vice provider rev­enue go­ing for­ward .”

SUSE Re­seller Host- ing sim­pli­fies the move to man­aged ser­vices, al­low­ing SUSE re­sellers to pro­vide host­ing ser­vices around SUSE prod­ucts within their ex­ist­ing SUSE re­la­tion­ship. Re­sellers now have a low-touch way to re­al­ize new re­cur­ring rev­enue streams by ex­tend­ing their suite of of­fer­ings through man­aged host­ing. SUSE Re­seller Host­ing com­ple­ments the ex­ist­ing SUSE re­seller pro­gram which en­ables SUSE part­ners to re­sell SUSE sub­scrip­tions for use in cus­tomers’ on-premise data cen­ters.
