In­tex Re­leases its First Sail­fish OS Smart­phone

In­tex­had re­cently an­nounced a part­ner­ship with Jolla to make its Sail­fish OS smart­phone ti­tled In­tex Aqua Fish. This was Jolla's first tie-up with a smart­phone ven­dor in In­dia for its Sail­fish plat­form. Af­ter much de­lay, the first smart­phone run­ning Sail­fish 2.0 made by In­tex has been qui­etly launched on eBay In­dia at a price of 5,499.

The de­vice will re­port­edly be avail­able on other ecom­merce plat­forms like Ama­zon, Flip­kart, Snapdeal and so on and so forth. The de­vice fea­tures a 5-inch 720p HD TFT dis­play and runs a 1.3GHz quad-core Snap­dragon pro­ces­sor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in­ter­nal mem­ory which can be ex­panded up to 32GB via mi­croSD card. There is an 8MP rear cam­era with LED Flash along with a 2MP selfie cam­era. The dual-sim smart­phone sup­ports 4G LTE and is backed by a 2,500mAh bat­tery. Con­nec­tiv­ity fea­tures in­clude Wi-Fi, Blue­tooth, GPS among other reg­u­lar fea­tures. The in­ter­face of Sail­fish OS is to­tally dif­fer­ent from that of An­droid. It is heav­ily de­pen­dent on swipes and ges­tures. The de­vice will be avail­able in Black and Or­ange colour vari­ants.
