Lenovo K8 Note: All you need to know
is all set to launch its new K-series smartphone, the K8 Note in India. The Chinese tech firm has already sent out invitations for the event for today in New Delhi , India at 11am IST.
It will be live streaming the launch event as well. The company has confirmed the existence of the smartphone by teasing it with the hashtag #LenovoK8Note on social media channels.
Based on teasers, the smartphone will be sporting a much powerful processor than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. Another feature that has been confirmed by Lenovo few days ago was that its K8 Note will be the first in line to come with stock Android UI instead of the Vibe UI.
The company said it has ditched the Vibe UI as the stock Android will provide enhanced user experience on its devices and will also be able to deliver the latest OS versions faster than others. The K8 Note will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
“The move to stock Android will give users a cleaner interface, smoother experience and no excess bloatware – everything that a user has come to expect from a premium device,” says the firm. The OS version will be offering features such as multi-window, launch actions and better notification management. Google Assistant will also be arriving as a part of the OS version.
The device recently got listed on Geekbench smartphone bench marking website , revealing processor details. According to the listing, the K8 Note will be powered by a 1.85GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor paired with 4GB of RAM.
Amazon has also revealed that the Lenovo K8 Note will be exclusively available from its own website starting August 9 (today). The exact time of availability has not been mentioned yet.
While there is no word on the pricing of the smart- phone, based on the leaked specifications and the features, the company may place the K8 Note around the ` 15,000 price segment, which for now also seems to be a sweet spot for Motorola smartphones.
Lenovo launching its K8 Note directly after the ‘K6’ series is rather interesting as the company is entirely skipping the ‘K7’ moniker. The last smartphone launched by Lenovo in India was one of the variants of the K6 Note back in January.
To recall, Lenovo launched its K6 Note in India in December last year starting Rs 13,999. The handset came with a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display along with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the optics front, the smartphone sported a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies.
