Blast Fear impacts Assam IT market
Assam, Arunachal & Manipur witnessed some blasts on 26th January. Police in Assam said the seven blasts took place in four locations of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Charaideu districts of eastern Assam almost simultaneously.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the government will continue to fight insurgency. “We will continue our fight against insurgency and the security forces are carrying out their operations against the militants. People of the state are united against militancy despite the militants triggering serial blasts in the state on Republic Day. People have given us a clear mandate that they are for peace in the state. They want a militancy-free Assam. No violence can affect people’s desire for peace. People across Assam will unitedly stand against violence,”
Every year around R-Day, Assam faces these hustlesbustles. People want a militancy-free Assam so that the fear of celebrating the independence that we as a nation have achieved can be removed forever. Apart from the day-to-today problems which people of Assam are facing after the serial blasts, local IT dealers in Guwahati have a lot to say.
Talking on the same, Vikas Agarwal, a local IT dealer in Guwahati told The DQ Week that “Every year the same problem is seen among locals, people do not travel around 26th Jan and because of this the whole IT market of the state suffers a lot.”
Assam is a state of festivals where various communities live unitedly celebrating their cultural diversities always. “People buy new clothes and shoes instead of buying computers on festivals in Assam thus already leading to no revenue and at present when one has fear of blasts while visiting the market, nobody wants to travel resulting the market down situation” says Piy- ush Agarwal, Guwahati IT dealer.
Piyush also added that “It’s not only the days around R-Day but otherwise also the Assam market is down from a longer period of time and the reason is clear, it’s demonetization. This could be the reason to change our fields as we; IT dealers are in big loss right now”.
The IT market is down in Assam from 8th Nov because of Demonetization like other markets around the nation leading to low cash flow in the state says local IT dealers in Guwahati. In such situation the blasts which have rocked the state recently might affect the business hard for Guwahati IT dealers.
