In­tex Gears Up For Ac­ces­sories, Boosts Part­ner Net­work


Home-grown com­pany In­tex looks at gar­ner­ing 40 per- crore in rev­enues from its ac­ces­sories busi­ness. The ac­ces­sories seg­ment at present mainly con­sists of un­branded prod­ucts.

The com­pany at present man­u­fac­tures prod­ucts in this cat­e­gory which in­cludes power banks and charg­ers.

“Our ac­ces­sories busi­ness has al­ready clocked last year. We have seen a strong ac­cep­tance of our prod­ucts that is dom­i­nated by the grey mar­ket,” PTI quoted, In­tex Tech­nolo­gies Busi­ness Head (Mo­bile Ac­ces­sories) Man­ish Gupta as say­ing.

“In the next quar­ter, we are look­ing at prod­ucts like lap­top bat­ter­ies, wire­less power banks etc. We are re­ally ag­gres­sive about this seg­ment and we are look­ing at gain­ing a share of 15 per cent,” he said.

With this prod­ucts cat­e­gory pegged to hit the mar­ket, In­tex re­alises that it needs to pump up the chan­nel ecosys­tem even fur­ther.

The com­pany is work­ing to­wards de­vel­op­ing a distri­bu­tion and af­ter sales sup­port net­work. It has also cre­ated al­most 20 Mas­ter In­tex Care part­ners, 100 plus Exclusive Ser­vice Part­ners along with that it has also cre­ated 1200 plus other Serice Part­ners called ICPs or In­tex Care Part­ners.

Ac­cord­ing to in­dus­try an­a­lysts, the ac­ces­sories mar­ket is grow­ing at 20-30 per­cent ev­ery year.

While t he mo­bile phone ac­ces­sories mar­ket is ex­pected to garner $107.3 bil­lion by 2022, as per an Al­lied Mar­ket study.

“Mo­bile phone ac­ces­sories as­sist in en­hanc­ing the user’s ex­pe­ri­ence with mo­bile phones. At present, mo­bile phones are equipped with mul­ti­ple func­tions such as click­ing pic­tures, web ac­cess­ing, lis­ten­ing to mu­sic, and stor­ing data. Con­sumers im­prove and in­crease the value of their mo­bile phones with the help of dif­fer­ent mo­bile ac­ces­sories such as pro­tec­tive cases, head­phones, USB ca­ble, power banks, charg­ers, por­ta­ble speak­ers, mem­ory cards, and selfie stick,” it said.
