Festivities have started in the city of joy, Kolkata as the prosperous Durga Pujo have started.

While the streets and bazaars are busy with customers; IT market is deserted of them. In IT trade and other related sectors the business mode is off due to festive atmosphere. The whole crowd is busy in shopping for pujo and pandaal gazing. Meanwhile, the government sector is also closed and people are not buying and selling the IT products.

Talking to The DQ Week, Shiv Kumar Modi of Trista Marketing has expressed himself on the situation of the Kolkata IT market. Modi says, “The market is almost closed as everybody is in the holiday mood. People are not buying IT products as they are enjoying the holiday atmosphere. But after the Pujo during Diwali we traders are expecting some good business.”

Ashish Kumar Paul of Vision Comtech says, “We are going in loss because of the holidays in the state. Right now everything is in festive mood and we are also enjoying celebrations. So, we have also closed the shops as there is no such profit in this week at least.’

Abhishek Swaragi of Bit Infomedia shares, “We traders are in a waiting mode for Diwali as Diwali brings big businesses every year to us. Before pujo we had couple of good deals but now we are unable to sell due to the celebration and the holiday.”
