NEW DELHI: State formation day for the newest state, Telangana, is scheduled for June 2 and could be the first public ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi if May 16 goes the way of exit poll projections, reports Nistula Hebbar. Modi has indicated to senior BJP sources in Telangana that he would be attending the ceremony to celebrate the formation of the state. “The final decision will be taken after the LS results as the new government will be in the middle of a Parliament session,” said the source.BJP, sources said, was keen to take credit for the formation of Telangana, even if the Congress or TRS formed the government in the state. Sources in the state said that TRS chief K Chandrashekhara Rao was so confident of forming the government that he has already indicated that he would want the swearing-in ceremony in Karimnagar rather than Hyderabad, where communal violence broke out on Wednesday, and where things could get tense with Seemandhra legislators also flooding the city.
