With an exhausting poll campaign coming to an end and results being declared on Friday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAM) ideologue Yogendra Yadav spoke to Ritika Chopra about his expectations and what he thinks of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Edited excerpts: not mediocre, product was sold was absolutely brilliant. And I say this without any moral approval of what happened. It was ideological spin-doctoring which presented Modi as a reformer even though he had no track record of it. He has a track record of being pro-business, but that is completely different from economic reform. There was a lot of whitewashing of Mr Modi’s track record vis a vis minorities. With it went the below-the-belt campaign – made-up rumours and lies spread on social media. This was part of the ‘sell Modi’ strategy, which has worked.
