Prepare for the Gujarati takeover

The Economic Times - - Pure Panache -

The new lexicon will include words like ‘aapi de’, which means give me, ‘aavjo’, which means goodbye. These will be addressed to all outgoing politicians, but words like ‘chaal she’, which means it’s fine, will have to be used with vigilance because the new government is coming on the promise of change. On the other hand, ‘badhu chalshe’, which means everything will do, may just be included for business! We will all have to work much harder now. It is good to have Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari back in action. What you really have to check out is how the menus will change — butter chicken will be replaced by ‘undhiyu’ and ‘dhokla’ will replace dosa. We (comedians) will always find fodder for our jokes but we will have to wait and see or maybe we will be looking for the UPA government to come back just for us!
