of the release of Tunisian bloggers Jabeur Mejri and Azyz Amami, during a photocall for the

film Fantassins de la Democratie (Foot Soldiers of

Democracy) At the premiere of a film inspired by the Dominique Strauss-Kahn affair, guests were handed a “Dirty Sex Kit” (DSK, get it?) containing whip and handcuffs. The film, Welcome toNew York, starring a gargantuan and stark-naked Gérard Depardieu, was launched on the fringes of the Cannes film festival. Contrary to the indications of its producers, it appears to take sides in the controversy over the rape charges brought against Strauss-Kahn in New York in 2011.

The main character, called Devereux attacks a hotel chambermaid just after taking part in two orgies. Since the charges against StraussKahn were later dropped, the former IMF chief’s lawyers were reported to be considering legal action.

Strausss-Kahn’s ex-wife, Anne Sinclair, editor of the French version of Huffington Post, wrote on her own site. “I don’t attack filth, I spit it out.”
