The Delhi High Court has asked the Centre to inform state governments about the interim relief provided to pharmaceutical companies petitioning the ban on their drug brands, said a lawyer present at the proceedings, reports Prabha Raghavan. The court extended the stay on the ban until Wednesday while it hears the government’s response to arguments made by Pfizer’s counsel, said the lawyer. Counsels of pharma companies on Monday complained that state governments were acting against drug makers on the basis of the health ministry’s March 10 gazette notification banning 344 fixed dose combination (FDC) drugs, according to the lawyer.
