LDF, UDF See Re­align­ment of Par­ties, Peo­ple Be­fore Polls

tested up to three seats in the ear­lier elec­tion got only one in the 2016 elec­tion. RSP in UDF camp suf­fered a set­back when its MLA Kovoor Kun­ju­mon an­nounced that he is leav­ing the party. The new RSP that he floated has been al­lo­cated one seat. Though JSS led by K R Gouri­amma left UDF and as­so­ci­ated with LDF, the lat­ter’s de­ci­sion not to al­lo­cate seats for the party has strained the re­la­tion of the party and the Front.

Mean­while, there are re­ports that the for­mer min­is­ter Suren­dran Pil­lai might leave LDF af­ter he was de­nied tick­et­inThiru­vanan­tha­pu­ram.Af­ter the 2011 Assem­bly elec­tion, R Sel­varaj, the CPM MLA in Neyy­at­tinkar­aleft­theCPM­cam­pand joined Congress.
