New Delhi | Kolkata: Sanjiv Goenkaowned IPL team Rising Pune Supergiants has signed up Spykar Jeans, Marriott Hotels, Cargill Foods’ brand Gemini Oil and Australia-based Deakin University as its sponsors and partners for the IPL season 9.
“The interest from sponsors for a new team like ours has been phenomenal. We had only two-and-a-half months to sell,” said Raghu Iyer, chief executive officer of Rising Pune Supergiants.
While Spykar’s logo will be seen on the back of the players’ jersey, Marriott will be seen on the trouser, Gemini Oil will be seen on the head gear. Deakin University has signed up as a partner.
“We see great brand synergy through this association and look forward to a very rewarding partnership through this IPL season,” said Neeraj Govil, market vice- president, South Asia at Marriott International. Sanjay Vakharia, COO of Spykar Lifestyles, said the brand was looking to increase its penetration and expand its reach and there would not have been a better platform other than IPL to achieve this objective.
“And if the objective is to reach out to a very large audience and in a manner which is so emphatic, I don’t think there is any other team better than the one that is led by Captain Dhoni,” he said.
