Singer Tay­lor Swift will be given a new award named af­ter her dur­ing the 64th An­nual BMI Pop Awards next month. The Tay­lor Swift Award is given to recog­nise the 26-year-old pop su­per­star’s “in­com­pa­ra­ble cre­ative and artis­tic ta­lent and in­flu­ence on mu­sic lovers through­out the world,” re­ports aceshow­biz.com. “Tay­lor Swift has trans­formed pop cul­ture through her songs, artistry and in­domitable spirit,” Bar­bara Cane, BMI vice pres­i­dent of writer/pub­lic re­la­tions, said in a state­ment. “She has had a pro­found im­pact, not only mu­si­cally, but also through her per­sonal con­vic­tion and com­mit­ment to cre­ate a stan­dard that val­ues and re­spects mu­sic for ev­ery­one. We felt it ap­pro­pri­ate to award Tay­lor with an hon­our that is as unique and spe­cial as she is,” she added.
