525 Com­pa­nies of Se­cu­rity Forces for As­sam Polls

Guwa­hati: The sec­ond and fi­nal phase of Assem­bly polls on Mon­day will de­cide the fate of 525 can­di­dates and 61 Assem­bly con­stituen­cies . Around 525 com­pa­nies of se­cu­rity forces are pressed into the poll du­ties. There are 1,04,53,231 elec­tors of which 53,91,204 are male, 50,44,051 fe­male and 22 third gen­der 22. There are around 12,699 polling sta­tions. Nearly 3890 polling sta­tions are marked as sen­si­tive. There are 1,671 hy­per­sen­si­tive polling sta­tions, 739 crit­i­cal ones and the num­ber of polling sta­tions in shadow area are 358.In this phase, there is 182 can­di­dates from recog­nised po­lit­i­cal party. Congress is con­test­ing 57 seats, BJP is con­test­ing 35 seats while CPI is fight­ing five seats among oth­errs. CPM is con­test­ing 9, AGP is fight­ing in 19 con­stituen­cies, All In­dia United Demo­cratic Front is in fray in 47 and Bodoland Peo­ples Front is con­test­ing in 10 seats.
