Periodical hike in the cost of goods and services is nothing new, but the 122% hike in IIT fees is too cruel, and anyone earning just over .₹ 8,000 a month cannot enjoy the benefit of tuition fee waiver. The nation will never progress unless meritorious persons are given their due, irrespective of their caste. Surprisingly, politicians never mortgage their personal interests. Will they reserve the post of prime minister, president, governors and chief ministers for SCs and STs for at least two terms, i.e., 10 years? End caste-based reservation if India is to prosper.
