The Economic Times - - Pure Politics -

Mumbai: In a fresh attack on the BJP government at the Centre, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi said on Monday that the country was being run by RSS which is trying to force its own agenda on the people. They were at Nagpur to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Criticising the RSS and BJP, she said, “We can’t forget that those who opposed him (Babasaheb) are trying to appropriate him (now).” Sonia further added, “Those who never participated in the freedom struggle, didn’t play any role in the framing up of the Constitution, practise divisive politics are trying to claim that they are the biggest follow- ers of Ambedkar.” According to her, Babasaheb would have abhorred ‘such people’ if he was alive today. “I am saying this because Ambedkar was curious, he was not ready to accept strict dogmas, he used to criticise and ask questions and this is the same thing that Modi and his people are trying to crush,” said Sonia. — Krishna Kumar
