In ‘How to Stick to Change’ (Apr 11), Ab­hishek Goel and Amit Gupta could have given more space to the types of or­gan­i­sa­tional cyn­i­cism (so­ci­etal, em­ployee, or­gan­i­sa­tional change, work and per­son­al­ity), their causes and ar­eas of ac­tion. A study by R Abraham shows that per­son­al­ity cyn­i­cism is the strong­est pre­dic­tor of or­gan­i­sa­tional cyn­i­cism. As lack of trust is the main cause of this malaise, spe­cific points of at­ten­tion would be man­age­ment style, process trans­parency and ef­fec­tive up­ward com­mu­ni­ca­tion.
