Unpardonable State of Schools

The Economic Times - - The Edit Page -

Apropos the news item, ‘882 Tribal Kids Died in State-run Schools’, (Apr 18), it is astonishing that government-run schools are in such a pathetic state of affairs. Although death by negligence of any child is shocking, it becomes all the more deplorable when it occurs in a poor tribal family. The state of affairs of these schools should be looked into and one would request the HRD ministry to compensate the bereaved parents. Every state government should be sensitised on this affair and the culprits brought to justice.
