Video­con d2h Plans to Turn PAT Pos­i­tive

Mum­bai: Video­con d2h, the Nas­daq-listed In­dian di­rect-to­home (DTH) com­pany, is eye­ing to turn pos­i­tive on the net level in the first quar­ter of the next fis­cal, a se­nior source in the com­pany in­formed. The youngest DTH op­er­a­tor among the lot, Video­con d2h will be the sec­ond player, af­ter Dish TV, to be PAT pos­i­tive, if it man­ages to re­main on tar­get. “The com­pany has added 1.7 mil­lion net sub­scribers in FY16 and the net base is at 12 mil­lion. Phase III of digi­ti­sa­tion has been ex­tremely good. More­over, the price hike we im­ple­men- ted across the packs, is go­ing to in­crease the ARPU (av­er­age rev­enue per user). Over­all, we are on track to re­port a pos­i­tive PAT in Q1FY17,” the source added.

For the 9-month pe­riod ended De­cem­ber 31, 2015, the com­pany had posted a net loss of .₹ 71 crore on a rev­enue of .₹ 2,084.4 crore. EBITDA for the said pe­riod was at .₹ 582.2 crore.
