Apro­pos ‘Shake­speare Bet­ter Known in In­dia than UK’ (April 20) wouldn’t it be grand if a sim­i­lar cul­tural icon – say, Rabindranath Tagore or Mirza Ghalib – were bet­ter known in Bri­tain than in In­dia? Well, ac­tu­ally not, even if western fond­ness for them would have made us love our icons more .
