Mother Dairy to Pay Farm­ers More; No Price Hike

Lead­ing milk sup­plier Mother Dairy to­day said it will pay farm­ers .₹ 2 more for ev­ery litre pro­cured dur­ing this sum­mer but ruled out any in­crease in re­tail prices for at least next two months. At the be­gin­ning of this month, Mother Dairy was procur­ing milk at an av­er­age .₹ 37-37.50 per litre from farm­ers in Ut­tar Pradesh, Ra­jasthan, Pun­jab, Ma­ha­rash­tra and Andhra Pradesh. “I do not ex­pect re­tail prices to go up in the next 60 days. But we will have to pay more to farm­ers dur­ing sum­mer,” Mother Dairy MD S Na­gara­jan said.
