New Delhi: The Congress has accused the NDA government of “undermining” the independence of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and using it “for partisan politics”. The party has sought immediate removal of the NIA chief who is on extension and urged the apex court to monitor all those NIA probes into terrors cases where the accused are linked to Sangh outfits. “Since the Modi government came to power, we have seen witnesses turn hostile be it in the Samjhauta Express, Ajmer or Malegaon Blast. But, we are seeing how blatantly the Modi govt is undermining the NIA and using it for partisan politics. Therefore, the Congress demands all cases of NIA be placed before Supreme Court, ” AICC spokesperson Ajoy Kumar said. —OPB
