Safilo to Launch Dior Eye­wear in In­dia this Year

Ital­ian eye­wear com­pany Safilo, which owns li­cences of de­signer eye­wear brands like Fendi, Gucci and Dior, plans to ex­pand in In­dia and bring its en­tire port­fo­lio of 30 brands here by 2020. “By the end of this year we will bring Dior eye­wear to In­dia and over the next few years we will bring all our 30 brands here. Cur­rently, we re­tail 17 brands here,” Luisa Del­gado CEO of Safilo said. As part of its vi­sion 2020, the firm is look­ing to raise the share of its own brands from 23% to 40%. The 3 bil­lion com­pany owns brands, Car­rera, Po­laroid, Smith, Safilo and Oxydo and re­tails the li­censed branded col­lec­tions of Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Banana Repub­lic, Bobbi Brown and Boss.
