APCC Chief Vows to Take Ac­tion Against Crim­i­nal El­e­ments

GUWA­HATI: As­sam Pradesh Congress Com­mit­tee (APCC) pres­i­dent An­jan Dutta on Mon­day said ear­lier the Congress govern­ment was some­what ‘soft of crim­i­nal el­e­ments’ and if voted to power, will ini­ti­ate probe against th­ese el­e­ments. Dutta said that BJP has given party tick­ets to sev­eral sur­ren­dered mil­i­tants, who have se­ri­ous crim­i­nal charges in­clud­ing mur­der. Congress promised that it will bring th­ese crim­i­nal el­e­ments to jus­tice. APCC pres­i­dent added that there are sev­eral BJP can­di­dates who were for­mer mil­i­tants and had se­ri­ous charges in­clud­ing mur­der and ex­tor­tion pend­ing against them. POLL PUNCH
