Re­liance Games to Fo­cus on In­dia

Pune: Re­liance Games is sharp­en­ing its fo­cus on the In­dian mar­ket, af­ter hav­ing con­cen­trated pri­mar­ily on the US and UK over the past few years, and is set to launch an IPL-based game on the Gu­jarat Lions soon as part of a se­ries of prod­ucts aimed at the do­mes­tic mar­ket.

The com­pany, part of Re­liance En­ter­tain­ment, has in­vested sig­nif­i­cantly in strength­en­ing its In­dian oper­a­tions over the past six months and now has a ded­i­cated 20-mem­ber team in place, Re­liance En­ter­tain­ment CEO Amit Khan­duja told ET

“We have iden­ti­fied ca­sual games, cricket and rac­ing based games as the key seg­ments and will be re­leas­ing ten games in this space over the next six months,” Khan­duja said. “We will work with brands and IPs and the fo­cus will be on qual­ity over quan­tity of games re­leased,” he said. The com­pany re­cently hosted the sec­ond edi­tion of Pocket Gamer Con­nects in Ben­galuru. Khan­duja said that the com­pany will ex­plore strate­gic part­ner­ships with some of the smaller in­de­pen­dent devel­op­ers show­cas­ing their games at the event where Re­liance Games could lever­age their skills.
