New Delhi: With Supreme Court con­tin­u­ing its stay over Ut­tarak­hand High Court’s or­der quash­ing President’s rule in the state on Wed­nes­day, rul­ing BJP’s next course of action is now hinged upon the hear­ing in Ut­tarak­hand High Court against dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion of nine-rebel Congress MLAs on Thurs­day. BJP in­sid­ers, how­ever, de­rived relief that the apex court has not re­stricted govern­ment from any ex­ec­u­tive action (which may in­clude lift­ing of President’s Rule in the state) on the ba­sis of chang­ing po­lit­i­cal sce­nario in the state.

Party in­sid­ers, in this con­text, con­fided to ET that party has al­ready chalked out ten­ta­tive course of action on ei­ther kind of ver­dict over dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion case in the high court. A BJP source briefed about party’s next course of action sug­gested that the po­lit­i­cal sit­u­a­tion in the state will shift de­ci­sively in its favour in case of high court sets aside assembly Speaker’s dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion of nine-rebel Congress MLAs.
