4,983 Com­plaints Against UIDAI Op­er­a­tors for Charg­ing Money for Aad­haar Cards

NEW DELHI: Unique Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Author­ity of In­dia (UIDAI), which is­sues Aad­haar cards, has re­ceived 4,983 com­plaints till date for charg­ing money from res­i­dents, Par­lia­ment was in­formed on Wed­nes­day. “Till date, 4,983 com­plaints have been re­ceived at the UIDAI con­tact cen­tres for al­legedly charg­ing money from res­i­dents. Ac­tions such as sus­pen­sion, black list­ing of op­er­a­tors etc are taken based on the out­come of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion of such com­plaints,” Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and IT Min­is­ter Ravi Shankar Prasad to­day said in a writ­ten re­ply to Lok Sabha.—
