32% Indian Travellers Book Holidays via Mobile: Survey
The number of travellers from India booking holidays on their mobile phones stands at nearly 33%, a 10% year-on-year jump since 2014, according to a new survey by online travel portal Yatra. The latest survey shows that Indian travellers decide on the go and are well versed with the latest technology. The survey showed that desktops and laptops continue to be the preferred medium of booking. The convenience of booking online has also seen a steep decline in demand for bookings through travel agents which registered a mere 8% growth in 2016 as against 11.2% in 2015. The survey also showed that despite the rupee slipping to 66 -67 levels, 67% travellers are lplanning summer trips this year, as against 35% last year.
