32% In­dian Trav­ellers Book Hol­i­days via Mo­bile: Sur­vey

The num­ber of trav­ellers from In­dia book­ing hol­i­days on their mo­bile phones stands at nearly 33%, a 10% year-on-year jump since 2014, ac­cord­ing to a new sur­vey by on­line travel por­tal Ya­tra. The latest sur­vey shows that In­dian trav­ellers de­cide on the go and are well versed with the latest tech­nol­ogy. The sur­vey showed that desk­tops and lap­tops con­tinue to be the pre­ferred medium of book­ing. The con­ve­nience of book­ing on­line has also seen a steep de­cline in de­mand for book­ings through travel agents which reg­is­tered a mere 8% growth in 2016 as against 11.2% in 2015. The sur­vey also showed that de­spite the ru­pee slip­ping to 66 -67 lev­els, 67% trav­ellers are lplan­ning sum­mer trips this year, as against 35% last year.
