Swamy Provokes Cong Again
New Delhi: For the second consecutive day in his new term in the Rajya Sabha, former Union minister Subramanian Swamy has emerged as the agent provocateur for opposition Congress which has resorted to stallingtheproceedingsof theHouse within minutes of his speech.
“Problem is this new gift of the BJPwhowillnotallowthisHouseto function,” Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said in response to deputy chairman PJ Kurien’s appeal to Congress to calm downafteritsmembers erupted into protest a g ainst Swamy’s remarks.
“It is only second dayandtwicehisremarkshavebeen expunged. There are 365 days in a year and how many times we are going to expunge. This man doesn’t know the difference between street language and Parliamentary language. He does not let his hair go grey; he refuses to learn,” Azad said in an apparent dig at the Chair’s suggestion that Congress members shouldgobacktotheirseatsafterhis announcement to expunge objectionable remarks by Swamy.
