“In several parts of the world, there are sig ns of increasing retreat from globalisation of goods, services and people, as pressures for protectionism are building up. These developments have the potential to affect exports from a number of emerging markets, including India,” Jaitley said.

To boost exports, Jaitley said a new scheme — Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme—wouldbelaunched in FY18 to provide funds for building land custom stations, trade promotion centres, dry ports and export warehouses. The scheme has replaced the Assistance to States for Infrastructure Development of Exports scheme that was repealed in 2015.
