Budget is a Mixed Bag
Finance minister Arun Jaitley’s Budget is a mixed bag. It comes as a disappointment to the salaried and pension class, given that a 5% cut in tax rate is marginal and would do little to ease the financial burden of the less-affluent. However, the move to facilitate higher investment in affordable housing is welcome. Ditto for the proposals to boost infrastructure and promote digital transactions, and bring about transparency in governance.
