After Ola, Uber Driv­ers, NSDC to Train De­liv­ery Boys

App-based cab ag­gre­ga­tors Uber and Ola have tied up with Na­tional Skill De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (NSDC) to train about half a mil­lion driv­ers in the next three years. Na­tional Skill De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion, a pub­lic pri­vate part­ner­ship un­der the min­istry of skill de­vel­op­ment & en­trepreneur­ship, has signed a mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing with Uber and Ola to train driv­ers, a min­istry of­fi­cial said. “In ad­di­tion to that, we are also in talks to train about 30,000 cargo de­liv­ery per­sons for an on­line mar­ket place,” the of­fi­cial told Mi­hir Mishra. Cab driv­ers will be trained on ba­sic pa­ram­e­ters and spec­i­fi­ca­tions sug­gested by the op­er­a­tors, in­clud­ing han­dling of mo­bile phones and speak­ing ba­sic English, the of­fi­cial said.
