Jubilant FoodWorks Q3 Profit Falls 32% to ₹ 19.9 cr

Jubilant FoodWorks, fran­chise for Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin Donuts, on Mon­day re­ported 32% drop in year-on-year net profit at ₹ 19.9 crore, hit by de­mon­eti­sa­tion and con­sumers cut­ting back on dis­cre­tionary spend­ing, for the quar­ter ended De­cem­ber 31, 2016, re­ports “The third quar­ter has been chal­leng­ing for the con­sumer sec­tor on ac­count of cur­rency de­mon­eti­sa­tion. How­ever, we were able to min­imise the im­pact by of­fer­ing mul­ti­ple non-cash pay­ment op­tions to cus­tomers.” JFL’s in­come went up 3.9% to Rs 658.83 crore for the quar­ter un­der con­sid­er­a­tion, com­pared to the year-ago pe­riod. The com­pany said it opened 32 new Domino’s stores in the third quar­ter.
