Dena Bank Swings to a Profit in Q3

Mumbai: A sharp rise in fee and trad­ing in­come helped pub­lic sec­tor lender Dena Bank regis­ter a net profit of .₹ 35.3 crore for the De­cem­ber quar­ter of 2016 against a loss of .₹ 662.8 crore re­ported in the cor­re­spond­ing quar­ter of 2015. In­come from other sources, in­clud­ing fee in­come and other charges for ser­vices of­fered by the bank, jumped to .₹ 408.6 crore for the quar­ter from .₹ 163 crore last year. The bank re­ported a net fall in pro­vi­sions for the De­cem­ber quar­ter to .₹ 48.4 crore from .₹ 96.7 crore in 2015. Net NPA ra­tio of the bank, the amount of as­sets for which re­pay­ment has not hap­pened on time, has in­creased to 9.2% from 6.7% of its to­tal as­sets. – Our Bureau
