Musk Lauds Isro’s SpaceX

Bengaluru: Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, is among those laudi ng t he I ndia n Space Re­search Or­gan­i­sa­tion’s record-break­ing feat of launch­ing 104 satel­lites on a sin­gle rocket — PSLV-C37 — on Wed­nes­day.

“Very im­pres­sive” is what the mav­er­ick tech­nol­ogy en­tre­pre­neur wrote on mi­croblog­ging site Twit­ter. His com­pany SpaceX is try­ing to push the bound­aries in space in­no­va­tion by cre­at­ing tech­nolo­gies to re­duce space trans­porta­tion cost, and has de­vel­oped re­us­able launch ve­hi­cles Fal­con 1 and Fal­con 9. Isro, with this achieve­ment, has bro­ken a record pre­vi­ously held by the Rus­sian Space Agency, which had launched37satel­litesinonego.PSLV-C37 was on its 39th mis­sion and took off at 9:28 am on Wed­nes­day morn­ing. In­dia’s earth ob­ser­va­tion satel­lite was among the satel­lites that were launched. The other satel­lites were ma­jorly from the USA(96)an­doneeach­fromSwitzer­land, Is­rael, Kaza­khstan, United Arab Emi­rates and Nether­lands.

Musk had most re­cently tweeted that Tesla,his­cle­anen­er­gyau­tomaker,could be com­ing to In­dia by this sum­mer.
