FPIs Buy In­dian Debt in Hope of More Rate Cuts

In­dian com­pa­nies may have in­ter­preted the cen­tral bank’s al­tered stance on fi­nanc­ing to pre­dict an end to the two-year cy­cle of eas­ing rates, but fresh bond buy­ing by in­vestors such as Aberdeen, Black­Rock, and Credit Suisse show global in­vestors still en­ter­tain hopes of credit costs trend­ing lower, re­ports Saikat Das from Mum­bai. “Over­seas in­vestors are again turn­ing bullish on In­dian debt securities,” said Ajay Man­glu­nia, ex­ec­u­tive VP (fixed in­come), at Mum­baibased Edel­weiss Fi­nance.
