Move UN Too to Switzerland?

The Economic Times - - The Edit Page -

Your suggestion in the Edit, ‘Time to Relocate the UN Out of the US’ (Feb 14), to move the UN headquarters out of the US is sound, but not to India — mainly for climatic and geopolitical considerations. Switzerland appears the best location; it already hosts six of the 17 UN specialised agencies. Singapore or Belgium could be other candidates. Moreover, there is a need for ‘intergovernmental’ structure to recognise that the participant governments must take into account the views of society, academia, R&D institutions as well as industry in the respective countries. Further, multistakeholder funding, if incorporated in the Structure/Objectives, would also be in keeping with the times.
