Don’t Impose NCERT Books

The Economic Times - - The Edit Page -

The CBSE has made it compulsory — wrongly — for all affiliated schools to purchase books printed and published by NCERT for all classes. It’s because many private publications drive home the concepts more clearly. As an economics teacher, I feel the NCERT books prescribed for Class 12 are so poor that most students cannot comprehend the concepts well. So, the government should prescribe syllabus, not books.
