Growth Street is Still Too Long
Apropos ‘Go Back to Chopsticks’ by Aurodeep Nandi (Feb 21), the notion of India experiencing momentary laurels because the neighbouring competitor is ailing, is not worth raising our collars. Competing with China’s manufacturing prowess is a far-fetched dream for India. The paradigm shift from agrarian economy to being a manufacturing leader still has some bottlenecks for India. Yet, the Human Development Index doesn’t help China’s growth, as some African countries that rank higher but have negligible growth proves.
