SBI Prob­ing Re­ports of Fake .₹ 2,000 Notes at ATMs

State Bank of In­dia said it is in­ves­ti­gat­ing into the re­ports that fake notes of .₹ 2,000 were be­ing dis­pensed from its Sangam Vi­har ATM in Delhi while adding that it "sus­pects in­volve­ment of some mis­cre­ant and mis­chievous in­tent", re­ports Our Bureau. In a state­ment is­sued to me­dia, the bank has said that the bank is ex­am­in­ing the notes in all other ATMs han­dled by the same cus­to­di­ans of the bank and re­plen­ished by the same cash re­plen­ish­ment agency. The ATM, which dis­pensed fake .₹ 2000 notes that stated Chil­dren's Bank of In­dia, has been sealed by Delhi Po­lice for fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion. The bank said that the DVSS footage ob­tained from the ATM has been handed over to the po­lice au­thor­i­ties.
