Adopt Universal Healthcare

The Economic Times - - The Edit Page Longer Lifespan -

Access to affordable and qualitative healthcare is elusive to most Indians. Outof-pocket health spending is a stark reality, and hence any regulatory measure to rein in prices of essential medicines is welcome. The decision of the NPPA to cap prices of cardiac stents after noticing unethical markups in the supply chain is no doubt an effective step to prevent unscrupulous profit-driven hospitals from taking poor patients for a ride. Enhanced level of public spending on health to provide universal and qualitative healthcare to all brooks no delay.
