For a Fair Justice System
Apropos ‘Missing Feedback Loop’ (Feb 22). A long trial resulting in the acquittal of an accused not only destroys his personal life but also affects the reputation of the government adversely. As such, punitive action against those responsible for adverse verdicts should be treated as a part of the justice delivery system. Intensity of punishment should follow depending on the reasons for shoddy investigation and prosecution. Within the purview should also be the objectivity of judgment in question.
