Ecomm, IT Cos Ensure 100% Placement at FMS
New Delhi: Faculty of Management Studies’ final placement process has seen a spurt in hiring by ecommerce and IT firms, with 50% more students being absorbed in roles offered by these sectors as compared with last year.
The premier B-school, which comes under the University of Delhi, wrapped up final job placements with 81 companies making offers to all the 209 students who sat for placements. Nine students had opted out of the process while 54 had received and accepted pre-placement offers.
The average annual salary on cost-to- company basis stood at .₹ 20.6 lakh—up .₹ 10,000 from a year ago. The median salary, however, remained unchanged, FMS said in a statement.
The highest domestic package offered this year was .₹ 54.3 lakh per annum—a- bout .₹ 12 lakh less than in 2016—while the highest overseas package was the same as last year’s at about $150,000 (about .₹ 1 crore). The average package for lateral candidates was .₹ 24.8 lakh per annum.
Among the top recruiters this year were Amazon, Uber, EY Consulting, Accenture Strategy, Paytm and Cloudtail. Accenture Strategy and EY Consulting topped the list with 10 job offers each. While 30% of the offers were for sales and marketing roles, 35% of the batch got placed in consulting and general management jobs.
Sales and marketing roles were also offered in the automobile, media, retail, telecom and industrial goods segments.
