Brother Held, AAP MLA Cries Foul

NEW DELHI: AAP leg­is­la­tor Ra­jesh Rishi’s brother was ar­rested on Mon­day for al­legedly as­sault­ing and mo­lest­ing an el­derly woman over a park­ing dis­pute, po­lice said. Ra­jeev Rishi was ac­cused of as­sault­ing the vic­tim’s hus­band Viren­der Singh and mo­lest­ing her in the in­ci­dent that hap­pened on Sun­day night at Dabri in west Delhi. “Ra­jeev Rishi and Satish and some AAP work­ers got into a fight with their neigh­bours af­ter the cou­ple op­posed the park­ing of cars in Dabri as it cre­ated a nui­sance for res­i­dents,” DCP Suren­der Ku­mar said. Ra­jesh Rishi, the leg­is­la­tor from Janakpuri, de­nied the charges against his brother and said the po­lice were act­ing un­der pres­sure from the BJP. He said his brother never at­tacked any­one but it was he who was as­saulted. —
